Nothing you start now will work. Everything you mistime will show. Here is the fortnight, day by day.
By day fifteen, your skin is what it is. That sounds bleak; it is actually freeing. It means the remaining work is scheduling — putting the right small thing on the right day so that nothing is red, tight or peeling when the camera arrives.
Day 15–14: Last body wax at full strength. Last serious hair treatment or spa. Day 12: Manicure and pedicure prep — cuticle work now, colour later. Day 10: Final facial: hydration only, familiar hands, no extractions you have not had before. Day 8: Stop retinoids, acids and scrubs. Cleanser, moisturiser, sunscreen from here. Day 5: Hair oil treatment if it is part of your routine — wash it out fully; residue photographs as greasy. Day 4: Threading and brow shaping. Redness settles by the function. Day 3: Nails and colour. Nothing on the face. Day 2: Sleep. Water. Low salt if you swell easily. Lay everything out. Day 1: Nothing new. Eat properly. Sleep early — this is the highest-return decision left.
First: it is far more common than the internet suggests, and it is almost always stress plus disrupted sleep, not something you did wrong. Second: do not attack it. No squeezing, no new spot treatment, no emergency facial. A cool compress, your usual moisturiser, and a spot treatment you have used before. It will be flatter in 48 hours if you leave it alone and it will not be if you do not. Concealer covers a flat spot. It does not cover a wound.
There is no bride whose skin was ruined by doing nothing in the last three days.
Squeezing anything after day 5. A pimple lasts three days. Marks from squeezing one last weeks — and they are visible in photographs long after the function. A new 'instant glow' treatment in the final week. Every salon has one, and it is genuinely lovely on skin that has had it before. Yours has not. Not this week. The 3 a.m. finish on day 2. Puffiness, dullness and under-eye shadows are almost entirely a sleep and salt story. Two nights of proper sleep is a treatment.
Last facial at day 10 — hydration only, familiar hands. Threading at day 4, not day 1. Two full nights of sleep before the function. Actually two.
Keep the routine you already use, book one gentle hydrating facial around day 10, stop retinoids and acids by day 8, thread at day 4, and protect sleep and hydration in the last three days. Do not introduce anything new.
Do not squeeze it and do not try an emergency treatment. Use a cool compress, your usual moisturiser and a spot treatment you have used before. A flat spot conceals easily; broken skin does not.
A gentle, hydrating facial 7–10 days before is generally safe if you have had it before with the same professional. Avoid peels, aggressive extractions, microdermabrasion or anything new inside the final week.
