Sweat, late nights and makeup, three days running. That is the real challenge here.
Most bridal advice assumes the bride rests before the wedding. A Gujarati bride is often dancing until two a.m. for three or four nights first. Sweat plus makeup plus short sleep is the exact recipe for a breakout, and it lands right on the wedding day.
Take makeup off the same night. Every night. Even at two a.m., even tired. This is the whole game. Lighter makeup on garba nights, saved properly for the wedding. Water between rounds, not after. Do not add a new face wash or scrub in this week because your skin 'feels dirty'. It feels dirty because it is sweaty, not because your routine is wrong.
Pithi is turmeric — shade, and no scrubbing after. The panetar and gharchola are heavy and often worn in warm coastal weather, so plan a set base rather than a dewy one.
3 months before: The slow list — marks, acne, hair fall. 6 weeks before: Last deep facial. 3 weeks before: Makeup trial. Garba week: Light makeup, full removal each night, water, and no new products.
Remove makeup every single garba night. No new product during wedding week. Shade for pithi, and no scrubbing.
Removing makeup the same night is the biggest single thing. Then a plain cleanser, nothing harsh, and no new products in that week. Sweat sitting under makeup overnight is what causes most of it.
A gentle clean-up, yes, if there are at least seven days before the wedding. A deep facial in that window is a real risk.
